RCIA Class Scheduled

Registration for the RCIA Class of 2018 is underway.  If you are interested in joining the Catholic Church or if you are Catholic, and interested in learning more about the Faith, this class may be for you.  The first class will meet on Thursday, August 31 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM in the upstairs Youth Room.  Classes will continue to meet at the same time each Thursday evening, except holidays, through Easter.  Non Catholics who complete this course may be received into full membership in the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults at the Easter Vigil on Saturday, March 31, 2018

Faith Formation Registration


Faith Formation Classes begin on Sunday, September 10 at 9:15 AM.  

Registration Forms are available in the Gathering Space.  Please fill out and return your completed forms before August 27.  You can mail them, return them to the Parish Office, or place them in the basket on the table in the Gathering Space.  

Children will first meet their Catechists at 9:15 AM on September 10 and then adjourn to their classrooms.  A meeting for parents will immediately follow at 9:30 AM.

Youth Ministry Kickoff

We're excited!  The Kickoff Date and Time for the new St. Elizabeth Youth Ministry program has been set for Sunday afternoon on September 10 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  Mark your calendars!  More details will follow but we can tell you it will involve food, fellowship, getting to know each other and your new Youth Ministry Team, and planning.  All high school age youth and their parents from all Masses are invited and encouraged to attend.  Come on out and see what our new Youth Minister, Jason Parker, and his team have put together and planned for the St. Elizabeth Youth Ministry.

Upcoming Special Events

The Knights of Columbus meet in the Parish Hall on Monday, August 21.  There is a pre-meeting Social at 6:30 PM which is open to family and friends, as well as those interested in becoming Knights.  The closed Knights Only Meeting is at 7:00 PM.  Contact Mike Ihnat at mikeihnatsr@gmail.com for more information.
Catholic Campus Ministry Small Groups (Men's and Women's) meet on Tuesday, August 22 at 7:00 PM at the CCM House on Faculty Street after praying the Rosary together at 6:00 PM.
Catholic Campus Ministry will have its first regular Wednesday Night Dinner Meeting for this school year on Wednesday, August 23 at 7:00 PM at the CCM House on Faculty Street.  Food, fellowship, prayer, and reflection is on tap as returning students and new students get to know each other.  All Catholic university and college students are welcome.
An important informational session on Respect Life and Natural Family Planning has been sctheduled for August 26 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at our Parish by the Charlotte Diocese.  Catholic Charities Program Directors Jessica Grabowski (Respect Life) and Batrice Adcock (Natural Family Planning) will lead a discussion on Respect Life and Natural Family Planning.  Several local people are also expected to speak.  All women and men who wish to better understand these important issues, including college students, are invited and encouraged to attend.   Refreshments will be provided!  Please RSVP by August 23 to jrgrabowski@charlottediocese.org or bnadcock@charlottediocese.org to reserve your spot.
The Knights of Columbus Breakfast Social will be Tuesday, September 5 at 7:30 AM.  The venue for this month is the Waterwheel Restaurant on Highway 105.  Contact Mike Ihnat at mikeihnatsr@gmail.com for more information.  This is a family friendly event and guests are welcome.
The 2017 Annual Charlotte Diocese Eucharistic Congress is being held on September 8 and 9 in the Charlotte Convention Center.  Anyone interested in attending can find complete details and up to date information on this year's Eucharistic Congress by clicking on the Eucharistic Congress Website and Facebook Page.  A signup sheet for those interested in carpooling is located in the Gathering Space at the Church.
Second Wednesday's Monthly Covered Dish Luncheon will be downstairs at the Church on Wednesday, September 13 immediately following the 12:15 PM Mass.  Parishioners of all ages from all Masses and guests are invited.  Bring your favorite dish or dessert to share.
Catholic Ladies' Night Out will meet at the Red Onion Restaurant on Hardin Street across from Legends on Thursday, September 14 at 6:00 PM.  Catholic ladies from all age groups are welcome.  Contact Amber Mellon at 828-265-2681 or ambermellon@gmail.com for more information or reservations.
