Welcome to the Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church website.  At St. Elizabeth, we give glory to God by living the message of Christ, practicing unconditional love and building community.  We continually work to nurture the spiritual, educational, and social development of God’s people.  Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we strive to respond to the needs of our community, remain a close and vibrant Parish family, and grow in Faith and numbers.

Thank you for visiting our website.  If you haven't done so, visit our Parish and join us on our journey!

Happy Retirement !

You are reminded that Beverly Wood, our long time Parish Administrator, is retiring.  Her last day will be Friday, May 24.  If you get a chance, stop by this week to say good-bye and tell her how much we appreciate her many years of service.  She will be missed!

Schedule Change

On Sunday, May 26, Church of the Epiphany in Blowing Rock will open for the summer.  Masses at Epiphany will be each Sunday at 9:00 AM.  There will be no Early Mass at 8:00 AM at St. Elizabeth while Epiphany is open.  Welcome back, Epiphaneers!.

There is a slight glitch in the Mass Times section of our current bulletin.  It shows Mass at Epiphany at 8:00 AM.  That's OK.  If you get there an hour early, you will get a parking place and seat with no problem.  We'll get the glitch fixed but you're still welcome to arrive early!

Memorial Day Schedule

The Parish Offices will be closed on Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day.  Please remember to pray for the repose of the souls who gave their lives for our country.

Monthly Food Collections

Next weekend, June 1 and 2, is the first weekend of June. Please remember your non-perishable food donations for the Hunger and Health Coalition. We also collect food and monetary donations for Casting Bread Ministries.  Please remember these very important ministries as we transition into the summer season when subsidized and free school lunch programs shut down for the summer.

New Parishioners and Visitors

If you are new to the Parish or you haven't previously registered with us, Parishioner Registration Forms are in the information racks in the Gathering Space and the Parish Office Hallway.   You can also register you and your family online at http://www.stehc.org/parishioner-online-registration.   Your information will be kept confidential.  It will not be shared or published without your permission and is never sold.  St. Elizabeth New Parishioner and Visitor Guidebooks are available in the above mentioned racks. Collection envelopes for new parishioners and visitors are in the stairway hallway bookcase just to the left of the Gathering Space

Traditional Latin Mass

On Tuesday, April 30, Father Matthew Codd began offering a Traditional Latin Mass (Low Mass) at St. Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church in Boone.  This Mass will continue to be offered each Tuesday at 6:00 PM.  If you are not familiar with the Latin Mass, and you want to learn, you are welcome to come and observe.  Materials are available to assist you in following along and learning about the Mass.

Wednesday Holy Hour

Holy Hour is the Roman Catholic devotional tradition of spending an hour in Eucharistic adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.  A plenary indulgence is granted for this practice.  Holy Hour, at St. Elizabeth, is observed on Wednesdays.  Join us for an hour of Prayer, Reconciliation, and Adoration beginning at 5:00 PM every Wednesday.

New Director

ANOTHER NEW FACE!  St. Elizabeth is excited to announce that Paul Kankiewicz has accepted the newly created position of Director of Religious Education with our Parish.  Paul was educated at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and Kings College in Pennsylvania.  He has previous experience in Youth Ministry and Catholic Religious Education.  Paul's first day with us was May 7 but he and his wife, Valerie, have both previously participated as active members in various ministries at St. Elizabeth.  Valerie, an AppState and CCM alumnus who is now employed with AppState, found Paul, married him, and brought him to us from Pennsylvania.  Be sure to thank her if you get a chance.  Valerie and Paul are expecting their first child soon.  We're very excited to have this young family become a part of our Parish family and staff!
