Welcome to the Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church website.  At St. Elizabeth, we give glory to God by living the message of Christ, practicing unconditional love and building community.  We continually work to nurture the spiritual, educational, and social development of God’s people.  Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we strive to respond to the needs of our community, remain a close and vibrant Parish family, and grow in Faith and numbers.

Thank you for visiting our website.  If you haven't done so, visit our Parish and join us on our journey!

First Saturday Mass

The First Saturday Mass custom comes from a specific request made by Our Blessed Mother herself during one of her apparitions at Fatima, Portugal in 1917. She asked that people attend Mass on the first Saturday of the month in order to make reparation for the many sins of the world, a need that continues in our own day and time.

St. Elizabeth will initiate a First Saturday Mass custom on Saturday, August 3 at 10:00 AM.  This will be a Traditional Latin Mass.  The First Saturday Traditional Latin Mass will continue on each first Saturday of each month thereafter.

Youth Group Time Change

The Director of Religious Education has announced a change in meeting time for the Sunday Afternoon High School Youth Group.  The new meeting time will be on Fridays at 6:00 PM.  The location will continue to be in the upstairs Youth Room.  There will be NO meeting this weekend.  The next meeting will be on Friday, July 26 at 6:00 PM.  For questions or information, contact DRE Paul Kankiewicz in the Parish Office or email him at stehc.formation@gmail.com.

Adoration Signup Information

Until sufficient volunteers are signed up to assure continuity in Adoration, regular Adoration hours are suspended with intermittent availability.  If you have volunteered for a time, please call before coming in to verify Adoration hours.  You may still visit the Chapel to pray daily but the Host may not be exposed.

Adorers are needed for our Tuesday and Thursday Adoration schedules. Click on Adoration Volunteer Schedule to see the current commitment of volunteers for Tuesday and Thursday times.  You can see where volunteers are needed and who is serving in what time slots.  Please look at the times where adorers are needed and prayerfully consider committing to one hour a week to spend with Our Lord. If you can commit to an hour, please email Kathy Camilleri or call her at the Parish Office 828-264-8338 or sign up online with our Online Adoration Signup Form.  Please volunteer so that we can resume a regular Adoration schedule.  Thank you for your consideration!

The Watauga County Back To School Festival is on August 10 at Watauga High School.  Tara Stollenmaier, who is a parishioner, serves on the board of the Festival.  She is asking her fellow St. Elizabeth parishioners to help out by buying and donating composition notebooks for distribution to children who might have trouble funding them at this festival.  Several thousand notebooks, both college and wide ruled, are needed.  If you could pick up a few or more as you shop this summer, and bring them by the Parish  Office, or leave them in the Upstairs Hallway Bookcase, or at the Food Collection Box at Masses, your generosity will be much appreciated.

The 2019 Eucharistic Congress will be held on September 6th and 7th at the Charlotte Convention Center. This year’s speakers will include Dr. Scott Hahn and Russ Berault, who will speak on his extensive research on The Shroud of Turin.  There are tracks for Children, Middle School, Teens and Special Needs (registration is required for all). There is also  a Spanish track for adults, which does not require registration. Parents can  register this year’s First Communicants online to participate in the Processional that takes place at 9 AM on the 7th.  Click HERE for more information on events and registration.
