Welcome to the Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church website. At St. Elizabeth, we give glory to God by living the message of Christ, practicing unconditional love and building community. We continually work to nurture the spiritual, educational, and social development of God’s people. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we strive to respond to the needs of our community, remain a close and vibrant Parish family, and grow in Faith and numbers.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you haven't done so, visit our Parish and join us on our journey!
Traditional Latin Masses are now offered at 6:00 PM every Tuesday, 9:30 AM every Friday, and 10:00 AM on the first Saturday of every month. Join us for this wonderful tradition.
The last Mass of the season at Church of the Epiphany, our mission church in Blowing Rock, was Sunday, October 13. The Church has closed for the winter and will reopen in May. We wish our Epiphany friends well as they head south for the winter. St. Elizabeth will add another Mass at 9:00 AM every Sunday beginning Sunday, October 20 until Epiphany reopens in the spring. There are no other changes to the schedules.
On the weekend of October 19th and 20th, St. Elizabeth will have a Library Open House. There are a wide variety of Catholic books that can be checked out. Come downstairs and visit the Library after Mass to see what it has to offer. Our Librarians look forward to seeing you.
The first St. Elizabeth Oktoberfest was SATURDAY, October 12, at 5:30 PM after the Saturday Vigil Mass and it was a huge success! Authentic German cuisine and beverages were featured, courtesy of Father Buckler. We had hot dogs and chips for children and those who wanted them. In addition to German beers, a variety of soft drinks and non-alcoholic beverages were also available. Huge crowds filled the Parish Hall, downstairs, and the outdoor decks. Afterwards, the recently refurbished playground was filled with the largest group of happy children and parents seen here in recent years. They played under the lights until late in the evening. Special thanks go to the many volunteers who worked tirelessly during the last few weeks to put this event together and make it such a huge success. But thanks especially to Father Brendan Buckler for putting together the menu, helping plan the event, and interrupting his Priest Retreat to drive over five hours on Friday afternoon from the retreat in Maggie Valley to Raleigh to pick up the German food and beverages that he had special ordered and bring them back to St. Elizabeth on Friday night. That was really above and beyond the call! Thanks again to Father Buckler and all others who made it a success. You really raised the bar this time. But you guys need to get some rest because there are already calls for a repeat of this event!

NOW OPEN -- Our new Catholic Store and Gift Shop is opening on the Lower Level across from the Administrative Office. We already have a nice selection of the much requested Chapel Veils, Rosaries, Scapulars, Books, Crucifixes, Medals, and other items of interest which one would find in a Catholic Store. Special Order items are also available. Coming Soon, St. Elizabeth’s Gift Shop will soon have items from Italy, as well as items made from molds that were originally from the early 1900’s! How exciting! Stop in and take a look. The gift shop is open after the Sunday 11:00 Mass and during office hours. The store is open during weekday office hours and after weekend Masses. If you are interested in volunteering to work in the new store after Masses, please contact the Parish Office.
