Welcome to the Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church website.  At St. Elizabeth, we give glory to God by living the message of Christ, practicing unconditional love and building community.  We continually work to nurture the spiritual, educational, and social development of God’s people.  Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we strive to respond to the needs of our community, remain a close and vibrant Parish family, and grow in Faith and numbers.

Thank you for visiting our website.  If you haven't done so, visit our Parish and join us on our journey!

Totus Tuus

Rising 7th graders through 12th graders are meeting June 23rd through 27th from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  Contact Batrice Adcock or the Parish Office for more information.

Faith Formation

Faith Formation registration begins on the weekend of Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th.  Registration forms will be available in the Gathering Space.  Forms and payments must be completed and submitted by Sunday, August 25.  The first day of Faith Formation Classes will be Sunday, September 8.  For those students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this Fall, classes will resume on Wednesday,  August 21, from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM.  Please note that the class will now meet every week leading up to Confirmation. A date for Confirmation will be announced as soon as we receive word from the Diocese.  Volunteers and Catechists are needed for Faith Formation for the upcoming school year.  We want to have a class for each separate grade level rather than combining grade levels as in years past.  This will require more Catechists and Catechist Assistants. Anyone interested in becoming a Faith Formation teacher or assistant can contact Paul Kankiewicz in the Parish Religious Education Office at 828-264-8338 Ext. 22 or email stehc.formation@gmail.com.

Priest Assignment Changes

  • Father Matthew Codd announced to parishioners at Masses on June 8 and 9 that he has been given a new assignment by the Diocese.  He will be leaving St. Elizabeth and Epiphany for this assignment on July 9, his last day here.  A new priest will be replacing Father Matthew on this date.  A Farewell Reception will be held in Father Matthew's honor on Sunday, July 7 immediately following the 11:00 AM bilingual Mass.  This will be Father Matthew's last Mass as Pastor of St. Elizabeth.  There will be no Hispanic Mass on Sunday, July 7.

New Pastor Announcement

Father Brendan Buckler will become Pastor of St. Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church in Boone and its missionary church, Church of the Epiphany in Blowing Rock on July 9, 2019 when Father Matthew Codd leaves for his new assignment at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Charlotte, NC.  Father Buckler is 39 years old and was ordained in the Raleigh Diocese on June 4, 2011 after graduating from the St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, Pa.  He served as Parochial Vicar at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Wake Forest, NC before being assigned as Administrator at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Washington, NC.  He served in this position for two years before becoming the Parish Priest there four years ago.
