FAITH FORMATION IS KICKING OFF! Forms are available in the Gathering Space and Religious Education Office. Forms and payments must be completed and submitted by Sunday, August 25. The first day of Faith Formation Classes will be Sunday, September 8. For those students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this Fall, classes will resume on Wednesday, August 21, from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Please note that the class will now meet every week leading up to Confirmation, which will take place on Monday, September 30, at 6:00 PM. Instructing our youth in the faith is a vitally important ministry in our parish and in the Church as a whole. Anyone interested in becoming a Faith Formation teacher or assistant can contact Paul Kankiewicz in the Parish Religious Education Office at 828-264-8338 ext. 22 or email email@example.com.
ANOTHER NEW FACE! St. Elizabeth is excited to announce that Paul Kankiewicz has accepted the newly created position of Director of Religious Education with our Parish. Paul was educated at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and Kings College in Pennsylvania. He has previous experience in Youth Ministry and Catholic Religious Education. Paul's first day with us was May 7 but he and his wife, Valerie, have both previously participated as active members in various ministries at St. Elizabeth. Valerie, an AppState and CCM alumnus who is now employed with AppState, found Paul, married him, and brought him to us from Pennsylvania. Be sure to thank her if you get a chance. Valerie and Paul are expecting their first child soon. We're very excited to have this young family become a part of our Parish family and staff!
First Communion for 2019 was at the 4:30 PM Mass on May 4. Congratulations, Communicants and Catechists!
The Faith Formation End of Year Celebration for 2019 was on Sunday, May 5.
