Ushers and Greeters
Ushers and Greeters are some of our most important Lay Assistants. They are often the very first people met by visitors and potential members. The impression they make can be a lasting one, whether good or bad. They have the job of making sure that everyone feels welcomed and that everyone has a seat for worship. They have the responsibility for maintaining the safety and well being of worshipers during Mass. They distribute and collect the Collection Baskets. They count the number of attendees at each Mass and secure the collections after the Mass. Becoming an Usher or a Greeter is the fastest way to meet your fellow parishioners if you are new to the Parish.
Two to four ushers are usually assigned to each Mass, depending on expected attendance. If you would like to volunteer as an usher, please contact the Church Office or speak to an Usher, Greeter, or a Lay Assistant at any of the Masses. University students may also ask Erin Kotlowski at CCM to let the Parish know of their interests.
Usher/Greeter assignments are posted on the Website Events Calendar as they are received from the Scheduler. You can see who is assigned to each Mass once they are received and posted.
